WHAT WE FUND
The Fisher Home & School Club funds important programs and supplies to enrich our students' lives. Here are some examples of where your contributions are spent:
Classroom Grants: The largest portion of the H&SC's budget is granted to classrooms and teachers at Fisher. A wide variety of programs and supplies are funded, which vary from year to year, but typically include:
Art Docents of Los Gatos: Art Docents provide programs and activities in art history, art criticism, aesthetics and art techniques. A highlight of every year is the Art Show held at Fisher Middle School.
Author Visits: The H&SC funds visits from published authors to speak to the students regarding literature and writing.
Camp Trojan: For incoming 6th graders, the Leadership group organizes and hosts a day on campus to introduce the 6th graders to the school. It's a fun day filled with spirit colors and cheer.
Clubs: Supplies for some student clubs are funded by the H&SC.
Parenting Continuum: The H&SC helps to fund the Parenting Continuum programs and resources which help parents navigate their way through parenthood.
Safe Routes to School: The H&SC funds Fisher's participation in the local Safe Routes to School program. This program encourages students to walk, bike, or scooter to school to reduce car traffic and increase people power.
Scholarships: The H&SC funds a scholarship program for any students that are not able to fund needs such as music, clubs, graduation, and the like.
Staff Appreciation: The H&SC sponsors a small breakfast honoring our hard-working staff each year.
Student Spirit: The H&SC wants to make Fisher a fun, inclusive place. Small tokens of spirit wear, which vary from year to year, are purchased by the H&SC in partnership with the Leadership group.
8th Grade Celebration: The H&SC organizes and runs the party at the end of the school year for 8th graders.
Summer Success: (paused since Covid) Incoming 6th graders that need a little extra academic refresh before starting middle school can attend the Summer Success program, funded by the H&SC. Funding covers teachers, programs, and supplies.
Technology: The H&SC funds software, subscriptions, and loaner Chrome Books.
Veteran's Day: The 8th graders complete a unique project partnering with a veteran. The H&SC provides a celebratory coffee when the Veterans come on campus.
Welcome Back Events: The H&SC provides a welcome back coffee and Q&A with the Principal each fall when school resumes.
